Stoplight
By Michele Pacwa

Clip to ScrapBook
I have been teaching 3rd grade in the inner city for four years and have always used the stoplight method. This really works if you are consistent with its use. I have never put a child on red, not because I have great behavior
all the time, but because I view red as the "point of no return". This way when a child is put on yellow, they don't continue with their poor behavior because they are fearful of going to red.
I also send home a weekly Week in Review which tells the parent what color their child was on for each day of the week and if class/homework is being completed. I would be happy to send
a copy of this to you if interested. Unfortunately my home computer is not working right now. It should be fixed by the end of the week so I will check back then to see your response.

Good luck!
