I teach 5th Grade in Texas. Our requirements are to compare the characteristics of the Moon to those of the Earth.

I have used some of the activities from the NASA book called "Exploring the Moon: A Teacher's Guide". I have done the meteorite cratering experiment, the regolith formation activity, and the distance to the moon activity specifically.

The book is available from any regional NASA center such as Johnson Space Center in Texas or Kennedy Space Center in Florida. It is also available online in pdf format at the link below. It is a lengthy download (158 pages) so you probably don't want to do it that way unless you have a high-speed connection. It is also a lot to print, so you might want to save it so you can use it from your computer and only print parts of it.

All of NASA's educational material, by the way, is public domain so you don't have to worry about copyrights.
