Have you thought about becoming a foster parent? Many, many children (including babies) need a good home, even just temporarily. My mom gave birth to two children (my sister and me) and then raised another (a boy-my brother). He started out as a foster child, but eventually my parents became his guardians. (He was 12, and he chose the guardianship over full adoption.) There was a family in my town who raised something like 10 foster children. They were admired and respected by the community.

By the way, I'm not trying to judge anyone. Many people have more than two children and are excellent parents. I'm just presenting another argument and some other options.
