Moving to NC
By Tracey

Clip to ScrapBook
I moved to NC 3 weeks into the school year to take a job in Robeson County (about 1 1/2 hours south of Raleigh...and there are still openings posted on the website for this school year if you're interested). I moved because
I couldn't get so much as an interview in CT without experience. A lot of people at my school are first year teachers from out of state, many with the intention of going back home next year to get a job once they have their year of experience that so many states don't seem to hire without.

As for money, I know people who have apartments or houses in this county with rent as low

as $250 a month, and after your first month teaching Robeson County gives a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The salaries here are much lower than up North, but so is the cost of living.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
