ADHD
By Charles

Clip to ScrapBook
As a parent of an ADHD child and a college of Education student I can see that this is a problem. This is only second grade and he is this disruptive he will probably settle as he matures. A few thoughts: Have you got parents
or other volunteers in the classroom? If his family is in denial and the doctor has not seen the behavior maybe you could get the school involved. The school could have a second staff member, teacher, nurse or other staff to observe in the classroom and document the behaviors. Another option is a volunteeer to sit with the student and help him to focus at least part of the time during
key lessons. If there is a college of education or doctoral program maybe they could do some observations and offer additional advice. The video taping is a good idea but this could be taken out of context and then the permission of all the parents would need to be obtained as well. I wish you well with the student.
