Clip to ScrapBook
Last year, my principal must not have been thinking. He set me up with a schedule which would have required me to do most of my teaching in the afternoon. When I pointed this out to him, he changed it for me, then I had
a wonderful schedule which had enough time to teach, but not so much time that I was feeling batty by the end of the day.

This year I start out with an hour block, then we go to related arts. We come back for about an hour and twenty minutes, then we go to lunch. After lunch, we have an hour of writing and spelling. We then go to recess. We return from recess, then we go to the

computer lab for almost an hour. That's our day. I really like the way my day is split up.

I agree that two hours straight are too much, especially in the afternoon. My kids are not very receptive to learning in the afternoon. I think they mentally check out after lunch.
