Clip to ScrapBook
After reading my post there is a turf issue. I have been a special education teacher for many years, self contained, resource room, itinerant, and a in a full inclusion class. As a resource room teacher it was impossible
to always know what the children needed in there regular class not being in there - plus some teachers and I can understand just didn't always have the time to give you all the ins and outs of what was going on in their classes. As a full inclusion teacher there were so many classes to cover it was OVER WHELMING especially at the secondary level. In the elementary leve you were a guest
in THEIR ROOM. I love my self contained class - I can meet the needs of their IEP's so much easier. Now I don't have LD students my students are VERY involved. But this is MY CLASS and my kids which as an inclusion teacher or a resource room teacher there isn't that bond. You are constantly trying to please everyone, parents, teachers, etc. Hope this helps.
