A Mother Is...
By Joan

Clip to ScrapBook
This is something I have done for years, and moms love it.

On a blank paper, each child writes one sentence beginning with "A mother is" and completes it with something specific to their own mom. Then they draw a pencil
illustration to go with it. I use a black marker to go over their sentence and drawing. I make a book out of all of them and each parent gets a complete book. I make an extra copy of each child's page and they color it in and glue it to the front for a cover.

Some cute examples I can remember from the past are...
"A mother is someone who lets me pick out any cereal when I go

grocery shopping with her."
"A mother is someone who makes me go on scary rides and then I love them."
"A mother is someone who makes me pancakes that are shaped like Mickey Mouse."
"A mother is someone who cooks me tamales on my birthday even though she says it takes forever."
