Behavior bracelets
By GAteacher

Clip to ScrapBook
Buy three colorful plastic bracelets on elastic string (WalMart). Place thenm on your left wrist. Explain to the students that these bracelets will remain on that wrist as long as they observe a certain behavior (everyone
seated, everyone listening, etc.) You move 1 bracelet to the right wrist if the class's behavior is bad for that goal. If, after a time determined by you, there are any bracelets still remaining on your left wrist, you will add a link to a construction paper chain or remove a tack from a bulletin board area. The goal should be 20 links or so. The time should be short aat first, maybe
one period, one hour or two. The class earns a privilege when the 20 links or tacks are reached. Extra recess, etc.; nothing that requires you to spend much money or effort. Email me for another idea and to let me know how it goes if you try this. Consistancy is the key (mine is terrible, so I am getting better).
