We have a kick off at first. We have a really outgoing loud male teacher that comes over the intercom at morning announcement time. He "kicks off" the first week. Our Librarian has a drawing a day for books. The kids| get a gold slip when the get an 80-100 on an AR Test and they place it in the bin for a drawing. She draws for a week. We have a prize display cabinet in the lobby advertising the prizes and the Reward Trips they can buy with points. This is all explained on the announcements. To know a student's reading level we give the STAR reading test,which gives the level they should be reading | |
for AR. I give the STAR again after Christmas and then again after Spring Break. This shows their progress. Kids cash in points at the AR store (once a month). At this time, they can purchase one of the trips with their points. Hope this helps. Our Kids are reading up a storm!
