Sorry to hear about your situation. However it made me feel better about the crap I've been through here. I graduated in 1998 and lived the sub life for 4 years thinking it would get me a job! Yes, I believed their lies about a teacher shortage also. A big joke. I was told by one of the largest districts I wasn't eligible to hire because I gave an "average" interview, whatever that means. Another district told me they only hired people who had student taught in their district, a bold faced lie. I did have a 40% contract one year and made it known to the principal that I would rather work full time. The only opening at the school that year was handed to a long term sub, not me! I am working at a private school where they appreciate my talent and time. The district politics are out of control. I never could figure out "the game" and why some people got hired. I am just happy to be working now, even though I make way less than. Good luck with your job search though.
