Clip to ScrapBook
My 3rd graders sound just like that. Up till now I have had a nice, easy going group that knew what to do when to do it. They could even walk down the hall to the cafeteria unescorted and would not even dare to break a rule.
Very dependable kids (minus a couple). But, I have also lost 2 of my best dependable kids to other schools and have gotten 6 new kids (one kid per week for 6 weeks) and my class seems so totally different than it used to be. This past week was awful. They acted like babies and all sorts of nonsense. I am going to have to go back to the beginning of the school year and crank up the old
positive reinforcement and bring in skittles and m&ms to reward good behavior. I think that my group became self-sufficient so I backed off of rewarding them. Plus the weather didnt cooperate at all so there wasnt recess due to rain and sleet so they were quite the caged animals. Maybe this week will be better.... I sure hope yours is. Let me know.
