Wow!! I couldn't have said it any better than in the posts I have read here. I was hoping that I would hear some uplifting things and I certainly did. I agree with nearly everything I read. Well, as promised, here are
my reasons for staying in teaching:
I, too, believe that teaching is a calling and it is where I am meant to be and the place where I can make the biggest difference. It is what I do best.
I love the innocent energy and enthusiasm that comes from kids. I am envigorated by it and challenged by children who don't seem to have it.
I love to learn and what better excuse than to develop

a new science or social studies unit. Children's nonfiction books are the best sources from which to learn. Adult books get too bogged down but kids' books cut to the chase.

I just love to be here and I am sorry for the teachers who have either lost that or perhaps never had it. Teaching is what makes me happy and I thank God he has given it to me.
