Hey - Congrats!!! Best of luck on your interview. We always like applicants who seem like they'd work well with the team or group of grade level teachers they'd be with, who seem up to date on using computer technologhy in
the classroom (i would fail this part badly if I were job seeking today) and know or act as if they know how to differentiate instruction and understand state standards and how to make lesson plans that correlate with them. I personally look for maturity and flexibility. It is helpful to know the personality of your school population. Most principals and school boards have this "vision"
for the school. Sometimes it is so unrealistic as to be ludicrous. Just don't make any promises as to plans or abilities that would be TOTALLY out of your comfort zone. What I mean is its OK to sell yourself and embellish but if you are a free spirited spur of the moment person don't swear you will be making a detailed lesson plan for 3 weeks in advance and sticking to it. You have to live with the job once you get it. Good luck to you!
