Praxis 3
By tgs/sc/6

Clip to ScrapBook
When you get your first 'teaching gig', you will be assigned a mentor who is trained in the evaluation of Praxis 3. Praxis 3 is a continuation of your education, in which you are 'graded' by a Praxis 3 evaluator (generally
NOT anyone in your school). They will let you know in advance when they will be coming, and you will be expected to see a solid lesson, with good management, good assessment, good lessons with appropriate objectives, etc. Your evaluation will generally take place during your 2nd year of your provisional license.

Your mentor, who is trained in this procedure, will be an valuable tool

is passing Praxis 3. If you do not pass Praxis 3 during your 2 year provisional license, most states will allow you to renew your 2-year provisional once more, and you will go through the entire program again.

If you move into a state that requires Praxis 3, and you haven't completed it, you will still be required to complete the process UNLESS you came from a state with a program that is comprable (we have ADEPT in SC).

Hope I've been of some help.
