alternative schedule
By year rounder

Clip to ScrapBook
Yes, I love it! We go 4 nine week periods with 2 weeks after each, except 7 weeks for summer. There is a 1 week intersession during the fall break and 1 week during the spring break. It offers remedial classes(students
get extra one-on-one help on low performing areas) as well as enrichment activities (photography, dance, karate, etc.) Teachers that want to work the 1 week remedial intersession can put in for that. Me? I just enjoy my 2 week break but know that I have an option of earning extra money if I ever choose. The first year we did this, I asked the question.....How will my kids act when they
return from the break. Answer: GREAT! The were rejuvenated (and so was I!!) but didn't have to review a lot of material before I could move on. I LOVE this schedule!! I have enough of a summer break (I love to teach!) but then know that a break is coming up in October. AND it is great for taking a family vacation (Florida is awesome in Oct.!!)

These are my thoughts on the matter.
