I sort of understand

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi,

I work in a very weathly, high scoring district. Inner city parents have their matches in the high power, white mama PTO ladies who run the suburban districts. These women get their way! Each scenario has its
problems.

I have had several foster children from the hard core inner city- the children of drug dealers, prostitutes, total criminals. These children have given me just a taste of what your jobs in the inner city must be like. Every chance I get, I tell people that if my class was filled with these kids, that our scores would be lower than any inner city school and probably none

of these teachers would stay. When one of these kids is put in my room (always in crisis), it changes the whole complexion of the class. I taught in the inner city a long time ago myself and know I don't have the stamina you folks do. Bless you. You should be paid way more than I get and you deserve every penny of it. I think teachers in the inner city should qualify for full retirement after 20 years, just like in the military!
