Clip to ScrapBook
I had a parent tell me that with how low her son's grades were, he needed more help than he was getting. Here are some of the things I have done since getting him mid-October.

1. Put him in for emergency testing - reading
on a 1st grade level! Still waiting for it to happen.

2. Given tutoring 2 times a week through federeal grant. He's there half the time if that. I could've dropped him after 2 absences, but he needs it too bad!

3. Gotten him qualified for Title Math.

4. Let him redo assignments and lift the usual "turn it in the next day to get it regraded" so he has ample time to work on

it.

5. Put him on a 504.

6. Seated him near the front.

7. Cut his assignments in half.

8. Cut his Spelling list in half.

This kid has been absent about 10 days since he came. He had poor grades at his old school and I can't understand why he wasn't tested before now! He scored below average in all but 4 or 5 areas on 3rd grade standardized tests!!!
