Job hunt By Angela

Hey there, I'm not from Texas, but California, but I was in the same boat you were. I actually had a job lined up in January of '02, but the assitant superintendent screwed me over. Last minute she said I'd be a long-term| substitute in special education, which I said no to because I had no background in special ed. Anyhow, it was right before schools started, I had nothing sent out, so for a year I substituted, and sent out applications like crazy. It was hard too because of all the budget cuts we had here. Before I landed my job, I sent out about 40-50 applications total. I'd say the key for you | | is to follow-up with each one. I just got hired a month ago, so things always happen within districts. My neighbor was lucky, she called a district, and somebody bailed on their interview. She interviewed that day and was hired. So just keep your head up, and follow-up with the district and principals. And heck, if you came down here I'd give you my job. But that's another topic for another time.
