Choice?
By AK

Clip to ScrapBook
Everyone has to search within themselves for the right decision on this, but my hubby and I decided not to have children. My school days are long and exhausting, but that's not the only reason. We are in our late 30s, go
to the gym every day, participate in cross country marathons and rowing events, have a second home in Florida, travel often and decided we were too selfish to give up our "fun" hobbies for a baby! Our parents agree with our decision and have been wonderfully supportive.
(Not that you need your family's support necessarily, but we are quite close!) I have never felt a baby clock
ticking, and feel comfortable with my decision. Again, this is such an individual decision. Only you and your "loved one" can decide what's right for you. Don't feel obligated to have children just because you think it is the right thing to do! If you have them for the wrong reasons, it will never work out. I can't tell you how many friends are now getting divorced because children didn't change their husbands/marriages after all and they wanted to start over. Search within and you'll make the right choice!
