Tangrams are fun that should be at teacher supply/learning stores. These are tiles that are different shapes and they come with cards. You have to try to make the shape with the tangrams that is on the card. One thing you
can make, or have the kids make, is what I call seasonal math activities. What I do is I make something out of paper that represents something about the current season, or a holiday. For example, in October, I made haunted houses out of paper. Where the windows and the door would be, they would open up. Behind them I glued math problems that delt with what we had learned in the year. The
students would solve them and write their answers the paper. On the back of each house, I wrote a number. They would then find the answer key that fit the number on the back (each house was different). So if they had the number 2 on the back of the house, they would find the answer key that had 2 on it as well. They would check it and see what they knew and what they needed to practice more. My students really liked it.
