teaching

Hi Lindsey! I am a new teacher. I am 22 and this is my first year teaching. It is great that you know you want to teach and are ready to start working toward the goal. I would start volunteering at a local Elementary School.
If you know a teacher you can see if you can volunteer in his/her classroom. If not, ask the principal if you can volunteer. Next, I would say really target a school you are interested in having for a teaching position. Get in good with that school, it will give you a better chance for being hired. Do as much as possible. The more experience you obtain in the next few years,
the more prepared you will be your first year teaching. Observe lots of classrooms and ask lots of questions. Talk to an advisor at your college and get your degree plan signed by the advisor and yourself as soon as possible. In education they frequently change the requirements for graduation and if you have a degree plan signed they are required to allow you to graduate with the classes on your degree plan. Good luck, if you have any questions please let me know.
