First Week

Hi sorry I have not responded sooner. It was my first week in this new class and it was so incredibly busy!!! I have multi-age students with behaviors. They are continuely fighting with each other "so and so looked at me| or said such and such." The first day I sat them down and talked about respect to others and themselves and others property. I set up my standards and listened to theirs. We have a jar that when I catch someone doing great with their work or behavior a marble goes in the jar. No sooner did I finish with the speech and sent them back to work, I had name calling and students who did not want | |
to complete assignments. They take things from my desk without asking. It was like I never said a thing to them. They do not care. I am trying everyday just to work through the rough spots. Does anyone have any suggestions????? I have two second graders, 2 3rd graders, two 4th graders, two fifth graders,and 2 first gradersa that I service in their classrooms. Help any suggestions would be great, I teach all subjects because it is a self contained classroom Kelly
