I went to second hand stores to get my teacher clothes. I found great clothes at such a great price. They weren't the kind of clothes that our parents wore when they were younger, they were stylish and professional clothes.
I don't think I ever paid more than 5 or 6 bucks. You can also find them at yard sales as the season comes around. Leggings with sweaters are always a hit and comfortable. Of course look for anything that is kid friendly like a bear sweater I picked up that has school colors on it.
As in going into your student teaching, I don't know if you need to put together a unit or not, I did.
Get online and find as many lesson plans as possible. My mentor teacher and I sat down and talked about the upcoming curriculum and I got online and found lesson plans. I then put each subject into a 3-ring binder and as I found the lesson plan, I would indicate which of the standards it met.
I hope this helps. You will probably get quite a few responses on this. I hope you do.
Good Luck and welcome to the teaching field!! You sound really excited!
