I am still looking into it myself, so I am not an expert on the series. I used the Four Blocks when I student taught first grade. It is a lot different for Kindergarten. Instead of just four blocks, Kindergarten has six blocks. They are Desire to learn to read + write, Language Concepts, Print Concepts, Phonemic Awareness, Interesting Words, and Letters + Sounds.

There are MANY books out there to help. To name a few; The Teachers Guide to the Building Blocks for Kindergarten, Month by Month Reading and Writing for Kindergarten, Tounge Twisters to teach phonics and sounds, Predictable Chrats for Kindergarten. The are all by Patricia Cunningham or Dottie Hall. The publisher is Carson -Dellosa. Here is a link to a website that explaines more about the series and actually sells the products: http://www.four-blocks.com/kindergarten.htm

It worked very well for first grade. I am only in my second year teaching K, so I am still experimenting and trying to get a feel for what works and does not work. I will probably try the Building Blocks within the next couple of years. I do use parts of it though, like the predictible charts and tounge twisters.

Good Luck! I hope this helped a little!
