Hello,
consume - my class read many postcards first for entertainment then for a specific purpose - see why written
critique - then I asked why each was written - some were to inform ex. a sale at a certain store, some
just to entertain. Then they were given a certain topic - inform the reader about our area - we then analyzed the ones at hand and asked if they did the job - informed us about a certain area. We then brainstormed a list of what should be included in the postcards we would send to our penpals, keeping in mind the purpose was to inform the reader of our area.

Homeworkopoly - you can find specific details at homeworkopoloy.com . Studetns are allowed to play if their homework has been turned in completed. I created the board and use clothespins for the markers. MY students love to play. You have chance and community billboard cards like in the real monopoly. I taylor these to my class - i am not big on tangile rewards sooooo - sit at teacher's desk, use teacher's chair, comfy cushion, read in the hallway, buddy read, free homework etc.
