work and baby
By Mommy too

Clip to ScrapBook
You have to listen to your body. If you feel tired then take a rest. You will have to let some things go. The health of you and your baby are what is most important.
Find out now about maternity leave. We get six weeks,
but they use up all your sick leave first and pay you a percentage if you use up the sick leave before the six weeks is up. Also we don't put into disability ( you have to sign up for that in separatly) so you really don't get paid time off before the baby is born. So look into the disability insurance now. I was able to stop working 3 weeks before my due date because of vacation, but
to tell you the truth I started to go crazy after a week. All I thought about was "When is the baby going to come?" So I think work was kind of a good distraction for me.
I went back to work when my son was about 5 1/2 months. I worked only 3 days a week. That worked out well. The hardest part was keeping up the nursing (via pumping). There really wasn't a good place to do it. So that lasted a few more months. I continue to work 3 days and I really enjoy it.
