Math homework
By Lee

Clip to ScrapBook
We grade all the homework that is sent out. If the students took time to do, I should take time to grade it. They need reinforcement on what they did so feedback is GREAT! I stamp five dollars on their papers for making
a 100. They must show strategies as to how they got the answer. They collect all their money and at the end of the six weeks they get to trade it in at our classroom store. We send out a math paper daily from a book called the Daily Moose. It has eight different problems on the paper. There is one paper for each day of the year. If there is something we have not covered in class, I use
a couple of minutes the following day to do a quick teach of the lesson. When we do get to cover it in class, they are already familiar with it. I also welcome the parents to help their child with the work. They can see what the child is having problems with and be familiar with what we are doing in class.
Yes grade it but you don't have to write the grade in your grade book. I have been able to help so many students just by looking at their work and I am able to see what they are doing wrong.
