Sharing
By Frustrated in Pa

Clip to ScrapBook
Last year was my first year, and I had 1 teacher on my team who shared whenever I asked. She was a second year teacher. The other one, who had been teaching for many years and was supposted to be my "mentor", shared NOTHING!
I'd ask if she had anything on a particular topic and she'd say no or tell me to ask someone else. Now the tides are turned and I am the second year teacher with 2 brand new teachers in my grade level. Remembering how hard it was last year, I would go out of my way to share things. For example, I copied my entire Halloween file for them to have some fun activities. Then I'd see
neat papers in the halls and wonder why they didn't share those with me. I even went to them and said, I'll share whatever I have and if you find something neat share it with me. Well, needless to say, that hasn't happened, so I stopped going out of my way to share things. I keep all my reproducibles on a shelf near my door and they are more than welcome to use them, but I won't offer anymore! We are all doing the same thing, shouldn't we be supporting and encouraging each other?
Sorry this ended up turning into a vent. You hit a sore spot on me!
