about firing By Janice

Okay, here's my situation. I had worked out just fine with my last principal for three years. Many compliments. Lots of smiles and encouragement. A shoulder to lean on when the going got really rough, and rough it often| got to be! This year: first year principal. Calls me into office in early November. Cites me for poor classroom management. Late November: Calls me into her office to complain about "poor classroom management." Petty stuff or stuff that wasn't valid. Early December: Calls me into office. This time the Personnel Director is there. Has a massive write-up of so-called offenses. | | Fed up, I turned in my resignation on the spot. I am now about to finish out my last week. My feeling is that your discipline is only as good as the administrators and parents. If you have no support, like me, then you have nothing to hold over the children. Mine yell in my face and act very rude and disrespectfully. If that isn't dealt with by parents and administrators, then there's nothing to stop the discipline problems. If you are really concerned about your job, as I know you are, then you should document, document, document. Keep copies of all referrals and attempts to contact parents. I wrote letters and mailed them to parents and gave copies to the guidance counselor. I did everything that was humanly possible.
