send them out By Kay

Don't waste time waiting for the district that you have been subbing in to figure out which positions they need to fill. The chances are that you are not the only substitute in that district looking to get hired on as a| full-time teacher. If you are a campus-based sub and you want a job at the campus where you have been working, there may not be any penings there in your field. Principals understand that you are a certified teacher and that you do not want to spend your time waiting for a position to open up on her campus. Let her know when you go in to ask for the reference letter that your first | | choice would be to work for her, but you have to face the reality that that may not happen. Be sure that your application with that district is current and that the principal at your campus knows how to get in contact with you if she does have a position open up. After that, just make sure your application with other districts is current, with your resume on file with them. Then send your resume to each campus with a specific opening and call the principal to let him/her know that you are interested. The more a school hears/sees your name (as long as it is done politely and professionally), the more likely you are to get an interview.
