coworkers making me nervous

Ok
Here is my vent. I work on the 2nd/3rd grade hall. I teach 3rd. I have loved teaching 3rd grade this year. I have had 1st in the past and now i just LOVE third. Well, the 2nd graders coming up next year are considered
"bad." The 2nd grade teachers have complained about them all year long and can't wait to see them go. So, I have people in my grade level "jumping ship" so they don't have to teach them next year. One of my friends has asked to teach kindergarten/first and another one has asked to loop up to 4th with her kids so that she won't have these kids coming up. Everyday they snicker and remind

me how Im going to get "stuck" with the kids from hell coming up from 2nd to 3rd for school year 2004-2005. I didn't want to ask for a grade re-assignment because I don't want to leave a grade I love and then with the new principal coming in next year, he might not let me back into the 3rd grade again. I didn't want to take that chance. I had a great class this year with the exception of 2 or 3 so I am not looking forward to a challenging group again (this was my first year in 5 years with an actual good group!) but, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do right?
