Job search By Scared to death!
|
|
Ok here's my dilema, I recently graduated from college and got my certification and all is well... except I'm too scared to apply for a teaching job! I have been working at a school district child development center since | I was 17, and spent my summers working at an after school care program. Basically I've worked with every age group from infants to 13 years old. That's not even including any of my school experiences. I've got super references (the principal from the school I student taught at, my coop. teacher, university supervisor, bosses, etc.). ...but I've never had a job interview before | | in my entire life! I'm no good at selling myself! I know I can do it, the people I've worked with know I can do it... ask them! Just don't ask me! I had a teacher from the primary school come up to me and tell me that she mentioned my name at a meeting when they were discussing who to hire for a position that will be open in the fall. They are expecting my application! I have it all filled out, along with my resume, a copy of my grades, and a copy of my teaching certificate, but I'm too scared to walk over to the admin. building (which is literally connected to the building I work in EVERYDAY) because I'm scared that they will actually call me for an interview and I will THROW UP! Ugh, how can I get some confidence to sell myself!? Someone please tell me that interviews can't be that bad!
