I read your web site, looked at a couple of different areas and thought wow! I wish I had more parents like you. That said here's what I think, I think special ed teachers would most probably read it and think you're
I think that you will need to continue to be your son's best advocate and that you will continue to speak up loud and clear, which may include ranting and raving at times or even getting an advocate. I think that the higher grade level your child goes in school the less flexable you'll find his teachers to be. I'm not saying there aren't any good teachers out there that will work closely with you and your son I'm just saying that 1/2 will and 1/2 won't - if you're lucky...when you find a good teacher praise him/her to death, let them know how much you appreciate them and pick their brains to death on who you can next place your child with...hand pick his teachers if you can...your child's success will depend on getting the right mix for him.... ok I'm rambling here....but you've hit a touchy subject with me...and that is how regular ed teachers do and don't treat special needs kids...I've seen it all believe me.
