Okay, a few weeks ago, I posted on inspirations that I had my observation, got my paperwork back, and did awesome on it. I was sooooo happy. I have really worked my bottom off this year, especially dealing with being pregnant for the first time, having a class from HL ( 3 BIPs, one sent to alternative school, another classified as severly emotionally disturbed, and 8 IEps). I thought that my observation report was a good indication of how well of a job I was doing. Well, a few days after my post, I got called into the principal's office to discuss contract recommendations for next year. It kind | | of may me suspicious, so I went to my unofficial "mentoring" teaching to ask her about it. She said that I shouldn't worry becasue they did the same thing with ehr right after the evaluation, her marks were not nearly as high as mine, and they renewed her contract. She said that tihis was just part of the drill, and they do it this early. Well, I went into the meeting, being told how well I did, and that even thought they put me on a growth plan because of my behavior problems, I had met and exceeded those expectations. Then the bomb dropped. They decided that it was in the best interest of the school and district NOT TO RENEW MY CONTRACT for next year. I was given the choice to write a resignation letter by the following Monday or be marked as non-rehirable.Well, I went to speak with the personell director, because I didn't want to do anything that would jeopordize my pay with the baby due in May. First off, they lied to me when they said I would be marked as non-rehirable. Next, there is nothing that I can do, because recommendations on probationary contracts cannot be appealed. I don't know why I didn't see it coming. I will never apply for a job in that district again!!!!
