Gossip

Please! Anywhere there is a group (men or women), there will be some sort of gossip. Some places have it worse than others.

Prayer meetings, and appreciation days.... those are great ways to keep everyone focused on what
it important. Alot of gossip has to do with how much the administration is willing to put up with.
In my school, gossip became so bad, that even subs became involved, and students began repeating things that were going around. Finally, the principal had a meeting, and layed the laws down. He said that it was unprofessional, and hurtful to gossip, and on and on.
Long story short,

the gossip is at a minimun and we have a meeting once a week with our teams, and 2 times a month with the entire school. Our administration encourages us to make "buddy teachers" which change every month. It gives us the oppertunity to get to know teachers from other grade levels, spend time with them, and get to know the real person that they are.

Like I said, there is gossip everywhere. With out it some people would die. There are those out there that no matter what, they have to gossip.
Just hang in there, or maybe confront the teachers who are talking about you. You never know, the custodian may have been trying to start something..... maybe she just overheard part of a conversation.

Keep calm, and remember... some ppl are vicious, back stabbing, cruel people. Don't let them get to you, and chase you away. When you leave, they will find someone else to talk about.

Usually when ppl talk about one another, someone else, they are insecure with themselves. Don't take anything personal.

Another thing, is to never reveal anything about yourself that you wouldn't want everyone to know, or something that could be twisted around to haunt you.

Speaking from experience, usually it will die down, but if it doesn't, the best thing is to confront them in a nice manner, and just tell them that you don't appreciate it, and if it continues you will have to be forced to speak with administration. I know that that seems to be like a tattle tail, but who cares, what they are doing is just as childish.
