It sounds to me like you had all the information readily available. I wouldn't be overly concerned about the journal prompt not being found. I'm sorry to hear that something so minor would be cause for so much trouble and extra stress on your end. I would let it go and move on. Sounds like maybe your class didn't have the best sub while you were gone.
