I also teach from the Scott Foresman series. I use the selection test from the practice book and also create my own 10 point quiz each week. The first 5 questions are phonics based questions that assess the phonics skill (ex: eigh words)and the last 5 questions are related to the story-- however they are higher level thinking questions as compared to the fact questions on selection tests. Hope this helps.
