End of Day

At the end of the day I have my second graders think of a person in the classroom who has really helped them that day. Then I call on children to thank the person who has helped them. I make sure that the person says that person's name...For instance, "Thank you, Mary, for sitting at lunch with me today." The person who is thanked has to
respond that he/she has been acknowledged.
