Perhaps they could make an important vocabulary mobile or cube. They can write the word and definition, but also make them go back to the story to write the sentence that includes the word.
They could also use a cube for the who, did what, where, when, and why of the main idea (the other face is the title and author).
To organize information, they could make folded books or flap books to sequence events in the story.
