make it visual!

When I introdue spelling words or vocab words to my students, I make it as visual as possible! I use a picture to introduce the word. One book I use to help that with sight words is the Dolch Sight Words books by McGraw Hill. Each unit they use pictures to introduce the words and they also have the students read a sentence and write a picture to match. Its really helped my students, whose comprehension is not all that great!
