pumpkins
By Sandy

Clip to ScrapBook
I presented a Science lesson using the "Pumpkin Circle The Story of a Garden" by Shmuel Thayer and photographs by George Levenson. I read the story and then let the children dissect the pumpkins. It was a rich oral language experience that would give the children alot to write about: how it smelled, felt, looked, and descibe the different part of the plant. The class really enjoyed the hands on experience. It does get messy. Ms Frizzle would be proud.
