My only thoughts were write a newspaper article about a scary event using 7 of ten of a vocabulary list of scary words.
Describe a murder scene, like the coroner would walk into and try to be very descritive then tell them to draw only what was in their paragraph.
Read part of a scary story maybe The Hitchhiker or something and have them put their own ending.
Or did you want more of a party type activity?
