Do you have a favorite substitute? Approach them about filling in for you. Otherwise, you will be looking at the principal picking a sub for you and if they don't work out, you get to take all the blame from the parents. So make a sub wish list! As for telling kids anything, you have to be honest. They will repect you more in the long run if they remember you as someone who was "straight" with them.
