first grade expectations

Thank you all so much for responding to my post. She brings home about 5 or 6 a day. Mostly phonics and sight word sheets. You all sound like wonderful teachers! I thought my daughter's day would be filled with learning centers, projects, etc. The first grade teacher was the kindergarten teacher last year. About ten days before school started, she found out she was teaching first grade and I guess she's overwhelmed. I just expected it to be more appropriate.
