Pet peeves
By Lori

Clip to ScrapBook
Make a poster for your room. Call it "Pet Peeves". The first thing on your list is "Starting a sentence with I" (you'll probably think of others to add). Then teach a mini lesson and have the kids brainstorm other ways to start sentences. Write their ideas on butcher paper and put that on your wall. When reading literature to them, point out interesting ways that author's start sentences. And when you see a student do something interesting, have him/her share.
