If you want them to be independent wear a "Magic Scarf" and explainto them that when you are wearing the scarf they need to solve their own problems (unless they are bleeding or throwing up...ha) I have tons of center ideas having done this approach for some time. Are your centers literacy centers or free play....? If you want some ideas for easy, inexpensive or free centers, feel free to e mail. I really don't know what your school requires from their centers.
