We LOVE George Washington's Socks. This is pretty easy reading for the kids or a great read aloud book too. A group of kids end up traveling back in time and are in the middle of the American Revolution. It is very funny because they are modern day kids coping with colonial problems. It is not nearly as deep as Johnny Tremain, which I think is difficult reading. We read George Washington's Socks every year and the kids can't wait to hear the next chapter.
