I just did a wonderful reading/art project on leaves... using the book "Look what I did with a Leaf." It is a great informational book about types of leaves, and the pictures in it are of many kinds of animals made from a variety of leaves. The kids collected many leaves of all kinds and used them to create their own leaf creatures. We glued them to construction paper and covered them with contact paper. This was a huge hit with my third graders!
