Common Problem

Where I teach this can be a very common problem. Some of my kids (4th) seem to forget about regrouping over the summer. You really must make the time to sit down with this kid one on one and decide if he is just forgetting to regroup or if he really doesn't understand the concept at all. It might be that he needs to be tested for LD. But I wouldn't make a decision like that until you have observed him for a few weeks.
